Eagerly awaiting
A quick update from my previous post… here we are, 39 weeks and 43 inches along (or should I say, ’round’). We’re eagerly awaiting the new arrival!

PS. Under the frenzy of a 10-second self-timer, we did attempt another family photo, 3 + 1 coming. Glad to report it did turn out this time! (but will refrain from publishing it here
).

One with mommy (I wanna move from crawling to standing and walking!!)

A moment with daddy (why stand and walk when I can fly?)

One of many for the family album.

And another one...

... and finally, the day ends with some sand and play time!
Happy Mother’s Day ♥♥
I saw this posted on someone’s FB, and it really struck a chord in me, I couldn’t resist but to add a new post… I searched a bit on the net and it seems the author is unknown! — But it is worth posting about anyway. Happy Mother’s Day, to all mommies out there, and especially to my mom.
Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn’t worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn’t want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn’t stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom,
I didn’t know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn’t know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn’t know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn’t know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn’t know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom.

Hooi Theng and family
Meet Hooi Theng and the men in her life! When we first confirmed this family shoot Hooi Theng told me “This Sunday may be a bit too soon, I need more time to ‘psycho’ my boys so that they can cooperate during shooting day”. Lucky for me she had such foresight… her kids were so easy to capture in photos! Thanks, Hooi Theng, I really enjoyed the afternoon and meeting your family!

Meet Hooi Theng and the men in her life!

See what I mean by being sooo co-operative. One of many shots that day into the family album...

Solo of the little one...

The shoot was over in no time... but we chatted so much that day
. This is what happens I guess when mommies get together...

And a light-hearted one to top off the day!
Introducing the bump

30 weeks, 39 inches

Savouring the moment...
Then I wanted to take one with Gavin… he is normally quite obliging to kiss ‘baby’ but not today. Oh well. The photo turned out better than expected.

*muaks* for a split second. We were lucky to capture this shot.
And finally, we tried taking a photo of hubby, Gavin and I but that was quite close to impossible because (a) we risked looking like I was the two-headed monster from Sesame Street, (b) it is impossible to predict what Gavin would do, (c) we have a 10-second timer to work within. So I’ll have to settle with the photo below for now… but I am determined to try this shot again one day!

Us minus Gavin. He was busy playing by this time.
And lastly… how can I resist putting this up! Gavin will have company in less than 3 months time!!

Pamela’s family
It didn’t seem too long ago that Jasiel turned 1, and it surprised me when I did Pamela’s family shoot in February that he’s already 2 this year! Thanks Pamela for coinciding your family shoot with Jasiel’s birthday… I am honoured to capture 2-0ut-of-2 birthdays! It was great meeting you and Frankie again, exchange stories on our little toddlers and especially to see how much your little one has grown.

Happy 2nd birthday, Jasiel!

Happy in the playpen

Pamela and her not-so-little one anymore!

A moment with daddy...

Yay, out to play!

One of many solos...

... and one into the family album!
Eli is 1!
You might remember Joyce’s family from when I just about started InspiredbyGavin. They are now a family of 4, and we got invited to Joyce’s 2nd son’s birthday party over the weekend. In the rush to get Gavin ready after his nap, I decided at the last minute to bring my camera… I thought maybe I could sneak in some nice shots if Gavin was adequately distracted (and yes he was, he was very occupied by other kids, his dada, and a cat!). As we left the house I grabbed the camera, with the only lens that was on it – a 50mm prime. Hmm, it was quite restrictive but here are a few pics that turned out well. Happy birthday, Eli!! You were so adored that day! More about your birthday can be found on your mummy’s blog here!

What a gorgeous (and yummy, I should add) cake!

Hope your wishes come true...

Lovely family - Joyce, Alvin and their 2 boys!

As the evening progresses the birthday boy is tired out!
Little Vivi
Meet the smiley, strong and adorable Vivi. I say ‘strong’ because this little dynamite has been through a lot, despite being 4 months old, and ‘smiley’ because she smiles a lot despite what you send her way. She is the 2nd daughter of a good friend of mine Jane, and I was thrilled to finally meet her in Singapore a few weeks back.

Cute, ya?

Even Gavin was thrilled to meet her.

Mummy & baby bonding. I just love this photo.

Happy chinese new year 2011!

- For a little bit of humour, here’s Gavin napping in the year of the golden rabbit!
Something new
Happy 2011!! I start the new year with a bang – with a huge present from the DH, thank you so much… a brand new spanking D-SLR Canon EOS 7D *grin*. Here’s one of the first few shots of Gavin and his dada.

May your 2011 be filled with laughter and happiness.
Merry Christmas everyone!
It has been a while since my last post… and a while since I took some family photos of our own. Now Gavin has a mind of his own (and he’s quite opinionated), so the photos turned out more ‘interesting’ and definitely more challenging to take
. Personalised Christmas cards and a great sunny day out at the beach prompted these photos. Enjoy and blessed Christmas everyone!
