Photos
Here is a preview of some of the photos I’ve taken from my personal collection. More photos are on the main page.
Of fingers and toes
Aren’t fingers and toes great! They make for great pictures and are also quite yummy (according to Gavin, that is). These shots capture Gavin’s discovery of his fingers and toes at 3 and 4 months old…

My companion, my comfort
‘My companion, my comfort’ as taken from Gavin’s perspective. The pictures say it all…

The Expression Series
Gavin has so many different expressions - there were just so many I wanted somehow to capture them in continuous series because it tells a story when assembled together. So I’ve called this type of shot the Expression Series…

Milestones
A lot of people tell me how they cannot remember if their baby was ever as small as Gavin… or how fast babies (or children) grow… so I take some ‘iconic’ milestone photos sometimes to remind me of size. It also reminds me not only of how precious ‘life’ is, but also ’time’…

Water and more water!
We went away with my sister’s family to a local resort one weekend and what a great photo opp – a beach, big pool, my niece and nephew! It’s such a joy to capture their expressions … there is just never enough water to play around with when it comes to kids!

Beach time!
We are so blessed in Sabah to have so many beaches around us and they make for great photo backdrops. Here are some pictures of fun, sun and sand from a day out at Karambunai.

At play
With the idea of children photography brewing, what better opportunity than to capture my sister’s kids at play. Toddlers at play are a delight to photograph and I realise it provides for good exercise too! It was a competition to see who/which was faster - my niece chasing the bubbles, the bubbles flying away, or me following my niece trying to take the photographs…

Mother’s day 2009!
It wasn’t my turn to celebrate mother’s day yet in May 2009, but after much ideas-exchange with my good friend from Singapore this was about when the idea of natural-expression family and children photography came about. (But only now, ‘inspiredbygavin’ did I decide to test this out as a venture). So I decided to take some portrait photos that day…
